He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Burgess and Ethel Burgess (Pierce); his stepfather Bob Campbell; and his brothers, Larry and Craig.

He is survived by: his wife Annette Burgess of Onaway; his children, Cammie Burgess (Robert Pope) of Onaway and Kenny Burgess (Tanya) of Grayling; his grandchildren, Jacob, Jazmin, Chloe, Andrew and Levi; his brother John Burgess (Carol) of Lansing; and his friend Day Adventist Church. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; and many friends.
