With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Don W. Schimmel of Onsted, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 26, 2025 at the age of 97. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Don W. Schimmel to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Samuel and Margaret Anna Schimmel (Zihmer); and his brother Glenn Schimmel. He is survived by: his children, Barbara Schimmel Marcum, Donna Schimmel Wright and Mark Glenn Schimmel (Mary Lee); his grandchildren, Jacquese Marcum Miloser (Marc), Jaimee Marcum Cardenas (Hugo), Corey Schimmel (Mike), Rachel Wright (Todd), Hilary Wright Mitrzyk (Chase) and Drew Wright; and his great grandchildren, Elliana Grace, Adelynne Julia, Arabella Alyse, Marin Victoria, Owynn Marie, Tristan Robert, Georgia Jane and Trent William. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions in Don's honor may be made to St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church or to Hillsdale College.
