He was predeceased by: his parents, Bud Byrnes and Dixie Byrnes (Niemi); his parents-in-law, Pearl Ruuttila and Ted Ruuttila; his siblings-in-law, Paul Ruuttila, Tom Ruuttila and Freda Ruuttila (Paul); Nancy Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Margie Byrnes; his sons, Bryan Byrnes of Ontonagon and Scott Byrnes (Lisa) of Whitewater, Wisconsin; his siblings, Greg Byrnes (Susie) of Ontonagon, Bob Byrnes of Ontonagon, Bill Byrnes (Jeanette) of Kemah, Texas and Barbara Forslund (Dennis) of Silver City, Michigan; his sisters-in-law, Marie Kinnunen (James) of Ontonagon and Helen Ruuttila of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania; and his close friends, Kristen Huber (Bill) of Madison and Laura White (Justin) of Chicago, Illinois. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
