We announce the death of William Eckloff of Ontonagon, Michigan, who passed away on September 8, 2026. William will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Eckloff and Evelyn "Martin" Eckloff; his siblings, Pat Sager (Brad), Marylou Mattila (Fred), Robert Eckloff (Florence), Donald Eckloff (Etta), Dolores Bishop (Herb), Barbara Kaifesh (Mike) and Clarence Eckloff (Betty); his siblings-in-law, George Cass, Jessie Holbrook, Robert Laumann, Frank "Bunny" Stubenrauch (Linda) and Roberta Niemi; his great grandchild Bryce Kennedy; and his father-in-law Frank Stubenrauch.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Stubenrauch; his children, Randy "Cricket" Eckloff of Ahmeek, Connie (Jim Rabideaux) of Iron Range, MN, Bruce and Peggy Eckloff of Rochester, MN; his grandchildren, Heidi (Dave), Jody, Billiejo, Steven, Josh (Mikayla), Justin, Daniel (Jen), Kari (Ryan), Dustin (Tanya), Heather and Lyndsey (Josh); his sisters, Dorothy Cass of New Hampshire, Carol Holbrook and Joyce Laumann; and his brother-in-law Lee Gustafson (Chris). He is also survived by 18 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home (26090 Pine St, Calumet, MI 49913). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
