He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Oscar and Helen Ruth Ward (Morteff); his siblings, David, Don Ward and Evelyn Michaels; and his brothers-in-law, Tracy Blough, Steve Blough and Lance Blough.
He is survived by: his wife Evon Ward; his children, Tim Ward (Sandiy) of Grand Rapids, Lori Tackus (Paul) of Spring Hill and Jodi Platt of Brooksville; his grandchildren, Brinkley, Kara Ward of Grand Rapids, Talia Semak (Matt), Makensi Green (Chase Timmons), Shaelynn Green of Nashville, Ashley K. Platt and Matt C. Platt (Breanna Miller) of Inverness; his children, Christopher Schumacher (Jamie) of Portage, Robin Schumacher (Elizabeth) of Lynnfield, Chad Schumacher (Kelly Thornton) of Ottawa Lake and Erin Schumacher-Peregrina (Jo Frank) of Richmond Hill, Georgia.; his sisters-in-law, Beverly Crussemeyer of Bristol, Cassise Smith of Bristol and Gina Schaeffer (Bob) of Sturgis, Michigan.; and his sister Maralyn Stevens.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Hillsdale County Conservation Club (3835 Bird Lake Rd S, Osseo, MI 49266).
