He is survived by : his wife Nancy Haney; his children, Fitzgerald Clay, Angela Clay and Joseph Clay; and his siblings, Barbara Sykes, Diane Clay, Debbie Clay, Erma of Washington, John T. (Ernestine Houston), Kenneth (Charlesetta Clay), Morrice Clay, Eugene Clay, Jr. and Anthony (Eileen Clay).
