He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Steele and Theo Steele (Lytle); his wife Mary Lou Hoyt; his great grandchild Kinsleigh; and his siblings, Norean, Nina and Robert.
He is survived by: his children, Douglas Steele (Christina) of Otsego, Diana Thompson (Keeler) of California, David Steele of Plainwell and Deborah Cook (Steven) of Florida; and his brother Donald Steele (Donna) of Plainwell. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
