With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Denna McMurray (Otsego, Michigan), born in Morris, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 10, 2025 at the age of 93. She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Sharpe and Elizabeth Sharpe Hafner (Eagan); her daughters, Kathleen Gommesen and Kaylyn Koetsier; and her sisters, Dorothy Skole (Bud) and Virginia Pickering (Tom).
She is survived by: her husband Rev. Rex McMurray; her children, David McMurray (Pamela) and Karen Whitaker (Daniel); her sons-in-law, Dr. Don Gommesen and Ken Koetsier; her grandchildren, Rachel Rossano (Greg), Hannah Gommesen, Bethany Vallerie, David Gommesen, Andrew Koetsier, Chad McMurray, Kathryn McMurray, Benjamin McMurray (Veronica), Joshua McMurray, Mark Whitaker (Beth), Stephen Whitaker (Tara) and Andrea Mekonnen (Anteneh); her great grandchildren, Jonathan, Daniel, Kaitlyn Rossano, Breaden Vallerie, Audrey, Elijah, Hudson Koetsier, Kerrigan McMurray, Jaydon Whitaker, Brooklyn, Ashley Cooper, Kiera, Chloe, Clint, Karly Whitaker, Zakai and Maya Mekonnen; and her friends, Tom and Janet Uminn.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Winkel Funeral Home (207 E Allegan St, Otsego, MI 49078). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
