He is survived by: his wife Rita Mitchell (Kubik); his sons, Ryan Mitchell (Amanda) of Grand Haven, MI and Adam Mitchell (Carly) of Royal Oak, MI; his granddaughters, Claire, Vivienne, Nora, Marlowe and Eila Mitchell; and his siblings, Doug Mitchell (Tracy) and Suzanne Schultek (Bill) of Forsyth, GA.
