She was predeceased by: her parents, Ward Hanchett and Loretta Hanchett (Askew); her brother Gary Hanchett; her nephew Charles Hanchett; and her brother-in-law Marvin Shreve.
She is survived by: her siblings, Nancy Shreve and Tom Hanchett (Barb); her daughter Katy Al-Sahlany (Maher); and her grandson Ali M. Al-Sahlany. She is also survived by her step children and their families many nieces and nephews, and her many lifelong friends.
