She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Thornton and Wava Thornton (Potter); her husband Henry Howard; her parents-in-law, James and Orpha Howard (Landis); and her brothers, Gary and Dennis Thornton.
She is survived by: her children, Debbie Howard and Craig Howard (Leslie); her grandchildren, Joshua Howard (Kacey) and Danielle Smith (Cheyenne); her great grandchildren, Makija Howard and Mila Smith; her sisters, Bonnie Grenlund (late Brad), Karen Schaefer (late Dennis Flegel) and Janice McCullough (late Lonnie); and her sister-in-law Willann Casler (late Bud). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM and on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Grove Bible Church (6990 E Price Rd, St Johns, MI 48879).
Memorials may be made in her name to Grove Bible Church or Compassus Hospice, whose staff the family deeply thanks for the compassionate care given to Sharlyn.
