He was predeceased by: his parents, Dean Abel and Mary Abel (Hunter); and his son Jeffrey. He is survived by: his wife Emily Lou Bradford; his children, Jim Abel (Laurie) and Shirley Thornton (Mark Stubbert); his daughter-in-law Carolyn Abel; his grandchildren, Kylee Rouse, Lindsay Gardner, Joshua Thornton and Jessica Musell; and his great grandchildren, Rowan, Knox, Ian and Zoe.
