He was predeceased by: his parents, George C. Russell and Norma A. Russell (Tuthill); his son-in-law Mark Hecht; his grandson Chad Rust; his sister Vivian; and his brother-in-law Bob Reed.

He is survived by: his former wife Catherine Evanchick; his wife Catherine "Katy"; his daughters, Sue Rust (Rod) and Michelle Hecht; his grandchildren, Kimberly Gilkey (Dave), Daniel Rust, Michael Hecht and Gregory Hecht; and his great grandchildren, Ava Rust, Hailey, Landon, Emmett and Callie Gilkey. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Memorial Healthcare Hospice.
