He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lawrence Gorte, Sr. and Helen Gorte (Greenthal); his significant other Deborah E Gorte; his daughter Shannon McAndrew; his granddaughter Brooke; and his uncle Benny.
He is survived by: his children, Lori Gorte, Kevin Zimmerman, Chris Zimmerman (Cheryl), Phil Zimmerman, Kianna Albrecht (Dave), Rick Clark and Brandy LeConte; his siblings, Tom Gorte (Debbie) and Mary Louise; and his pet Hank (Kitty). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
