He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Hankerd and Anna Hankerd (Lienheart); his son Ted Hankerd; his grandson Cooper Pasco; his sister Elizabeth Tomei; his brothers-in-law, Lester Tomei, David "Blue Jay" Guzak and Fred Petersen; and his daughter-in-law Kindell Hankerd.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Hankerd of Mary's Catholic Church; his sons, Tim Hankerd (Gina) of Corona, Jim Hankerd (Kim) of Gladwin, Tom Hankerd (Kris) of Davison, John Hankerd (Sue) of Owosso and Jeff Hankerd (Marie) of Gladwin, Michigan; his siblings, Robert Hankerd (Mary) of Las Cruces and Mary Helen Guzak of Flushing, Michigan; and his sister-in-law Carol Petersen. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.
