He was predeceased by: his parents, Ken Garrison and Sherry Garrison. He is survived by: his wife Andrea Kelly Garrison; his siblings, Ron Garrison (Lavinia), Kris Wahr (Dave) and Kim Garrison; his nieces and nephews, Erin, Gregory, Xandra, Sydney, Brandon (Melanie), Alyssa (Jake), Emily, Jacob, Colby and Easton; his great-nephew Broc; and his great-niece Harper.
During the COVID pandemic, Ray transitioned his business to a fully online model so his students could continue learning and stay connected through the game.
Memorial Contributions The family will be working with the Michigan Chess Association to establish a memorial fund in Ray's honor to support chess education and student opportunities.
