He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund Shomin and Angeline Shomin (Shagonaby); his wife Barbara Ellen Shomin (Tribelote); his siblings, Enos, Edward, Mabel, Bennett, Albert, Richard, Irene, Frank, Mildred, Gordon, Mary, Marie and Anishinaabe; his children, David and Mary Lou Shananaquet; and his grandchildren, Derek Jackson and Nicole LaLonde.
He is survived by: his children, Mike Shomin (Shari), Jeanne Stockard (Shorty), Tom Shomin (Marci), Nancy Shomin, Anishinaabe, Julie Shananaquet, Cathy Gibson (JD) and Dennis Shananaquet (Andi); his grandchildren, Shannon Evans (Joseph), Adam LaLonde, Blain Jackson, James Shomin (Hanna), Mathew Shomin (Stephanie), Rachel Ribeiro (Rob), Heather Shomin (Josh), Alicia Shomin, Brandon Shomin and Zachary Shomin; and his great grandchildren, Lilian Shomin, Patrick Ribeiro, Aliazah, Isaiah, Josiah, Pablo, Arayah and Lynessa Shomin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Holy Cross Catholic Church (6624 N Lake Shore Dr, Harbor Springs, MI 49723).
