Betty Jean Washburne Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Jean Washburne (Petoskey, Michigan), who passed away on November 1, 2022, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lavina Osborn and Glenn Osborn; her sister Fay Marshall; her husband Tom Washburne; and her son Jamie.

She is survived by: her children, Betty, Tom Washburne (Nancy) of St. Ignace, Dana McArt (Tom) of Inman, SC, Mike Washburne (Brenda) of Charlevoix and Lori Brewer (Phil) of Holland; her grandchildren, Kate Washburne-Nelson (Hollis) of Kirkcaldy, Scotland, Andrew Washburne (Kirby Shotwell) of Byron Center, Jason McArt (Jenn) of Greer, SC, Trevor Brewer (Kenzie) of Hudsonville, Jake Washburne (Lily Zuccaro) of Tacoma, WA, Dani Brewer of Holland and Spencer Brewer (Olivia) of Zeeland; her great grandchildren, Aidan Washburne of Byron Center and Brighton Brewer of Hudsonville; and her sister-in-law Emily Stratton.

Because of her love for animals and the great care she received in her final days, memorial donations in Betty's name are suggested by family to be given to Hiland cottage Hospice House: 1 Hiland Drive, Petoskey, MI 49770; or Little Traverse Bay Humane Society: 1300 West Conway Road, Harbor Springs, MI 49740.
