As Michael departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Michael may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Michael leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his mother Maria Kotz. He is survived by: his wife Holly; his children, Grace and Gabe Rhinehart; his granddaughter Charlotte; his father Michael Patrick Kotz; and his siblings, Melissa Cormendy (Matt) and Nick Kotz (Karen). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as aunts, uncles cousins and dear friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Emmet County Fairgrounds Community Center (1129 Charlevoix Ave, Petoskey, MI 49770).
