He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Emil Carl Kyle and Pearl Evelyn Opal Kyle (Standridge); his wife Mari Riker; his children, David Kyle (Karla) and Sherry Kyle (Keith Pierce); his grandchildren, Bliss Kyle, Jason Kyle, BreAnn Johnson (Kyle), Joshua Hardman (Amber) and Carolynn Duguay (Tamer Hourani); his great grandchildren, Brandon, Jordan Lippincott, Katelyn, Hailey, Zane Miller, Atticus, Silas, Kasper Johnson, Weston, Payton, Olivia and Emma Hardman; his sisters, Margarete Landers (late Al) and Elaine Campbell (late Reggie); his brother-in-law William "Butch" Riker; his friend Marvin Lovegrove; and his siblings, Bobby Kyle (Helen) and Reba Fairbanks (Gaylon). He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews.

Memorials may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association.
