He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Rye and Thelma Rye (Anderson). He is survived by: his wife Janet Sparks; his son Vernon Rye (Stephanie) of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; his granddaughter Cybill Grace Rye of Mt. Carmel; his sister Marilynn Crisp (Marshall) of Pickford; his siblings-in-law, George Sparks (Emiko) of Williamston, Arnold Sparks of Traverse City, Michigan, Kathy Chace of Mancelona, Elaine Sparks of Milan and Susan Hendricks (Ival) of Kalkaska, Michigan; and his nieces, Melissa VanLuven (Michael), Tia Radle and Wendy Snyder (Brent). He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
