He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Burtt and Ellen Burtt (McKay); his wife Judith Burtt; his daughter Mary; and his siblings, Frank Burtt and Janice Stephens.
He is survived by: his children, John Burtt and Janice Burtt; his grandchildren, Jack Fookes and Tess Fookes; his sisters, Valerie Ericksen and Maxine Lahay; and his brother-in-law Joseph Jingles. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
