He was predeceased by: his parents, William Dufty and Marie Dufty (Miles); his in-laws, Gebhard and Theresia Heine; his brothers-in-law, Richard Heine and Fritz Smith; and his brother Billy Joe Dufty.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Heine; his daughters, Jennifer Smith (Sean) and Trista Thormeier (Tyler); his grandchildren, Ultan, Bodie Dunn and Roscoe Thormeier; his siblings, Cindy Smith, D'Ann McLean (Dick), Danny Dufty (Sharon), Ladonna Dufty, Jan McCrimmon and Terese Umphrey (Steve); and his caregiver Jacob.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Caseville Eagles Club (7017 E Park St, Caseville, MI 48725).
