Bertha M. (Pfau) Bishop Obituary
Bertha Bishop passed away on November 1, 2025, at her son's home in Omer with her loving family by her side. Bertha was born in Beaver at home on March 5, 1938 to the late Adolf and Mary Pfau. She married the love of life Eugene Bishop Sr. on March 27, 1954, he preceded her in death on August 16, 2020 after 66 1/2 years of marriage. Bertha will be remembered for her sweet smile. kind words and the best sticky buns and chocolate chip cookies that she made at Pinconning High School where she worked for 30 years.
She is survived by children Eugene (Janet) Bishop of Prescott Arizonia, Joy Grappin of Pinconning, and Jay (Karen) Bishop of Omer, her grandchildren Lisa, Charity, Jesse Bishop, Craig (Theresa) Grappin, Nick, Mandy (Rhyan) Raymond, Michelle (Matt) Rashotte, and Josh (Heather) Leppek. Great grandchildren Colter, Katri, Kahlill, Tyler, Kam (Natalie), Makayla (Wade), Ashton, Amelia, Ty, Kaitrey, Eli, Addison, and Aubrianna. Her newest great-great Granddaughter Rebecca Lynn Dubois who she got to hold on and meet October 5. A brother Ralph (Deb) Pfau and a sister Freida (Leonard) Crabtree, also many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son Michael, baby Kenneth, a daughter Kay Bishop, a son-in-law Gerald Grappin, a brother Paulie and sisters Donna and Alma.
We would like to thank Joy for being her best friend, caretaker, and companion for the last 5 years. Also, our two nurses who took wonderful care of Bertha the last 2 weeks, Michelle and Makayla. Special thanks to our in-home nurses Jo and Wendy from Residential Home Care and our Hospice nurses.
Funeral mass will be on Wednesday November 5, 2025 at 11am at Holy Trinity Church in Pinconning with Fr. Matthew Federico presiding with burial at St. Michael's Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 9am till time of mass at church.
