Harriet T. Spencer Obituary
Harriet T. Spencer, known affectionately as Hattie to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, at the age of 102 in Pinconning, Michigan. Born on January 6, 1924, in Bay City, Michigan, Harriet was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness, thoughtfulness, and unwavering faith. Harriet's journey began as the next to youngest of seventeen children. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, all her siblings, her cherished husbands, Lester Spencer and Robert Goodman Sr., two sons, Lester Jr. and Robert Goodman Jr., a son-in-law Roy Yankee Sr., and a daughter-in-law Myrtle Spencer. Her spirit, however, is carried on through her surviving children: Lynn Seelye, John Spencer Sr., Richard Spencer, Clyde (Mary) Spencer, and Debbra Yankee, as well as her 13 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 23 great-great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish her memory. A Sister-in-law Wanda Richardson and several Nieces and nephews.
Throughout her life, Harriet embraced the role of a homemaker with unyielding dedication and love. She was the cornerstone of her family, raising her children with a gentle hand and a firm resolve. Her home was a welcoming haven where laughter was shared, and life's lessons were learned. Beyond her family life, Harriet had a zest for living that was evident in her many interests. She was an enthusiastic member of various bowling leagues, where her competitive spirit and camaraderie were well-known. Harriet also had a surprising love for video games, which she played with the same passion she brought to every aspect of her life. Her love for reading kept her mind sharp and her heart open to new ideas and worlds.
Funeral service will be on Sunday February 22, 2026 at 5pm at Rivertown Funeral Chapel with Pastor Brian Dake presiding. Visitation will be on Sunday from 12pm till time of service .
