Jean J. Plezia Obituary
Jean "Jenny" Plezia, age 92, formerly of Pinconning, Michigan, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025. Born on May 9, 1933, in Mayfield, Tuscola County, Michigan, she was the daughter of Pawel (Paul) Soyk and Marinna (Mary) Gatny.
Jean lived a life devoted to family, faith, and hand-crafted creativity.
Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Chester Plezia. In their kindred love of family and farm they made a wonderful home to grow up in.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Gary Plezia, Joseph Plezia (Marsha), Michael Plezia, Barbara Plezia (Mark), and Eileen McKenzie (Michael). Jean was a proud and loving grandmother to Michael Plezia (Susan), Alyssa-Nicole McKenzie, Hannah Rodas (Pedro), Joshua McKenzie, Gabriella Plezia Munro (Nik), and Rebekah Doepel, and a cherished Great-Grandmother to Margo Jean Munro, who brought her immense joy.
Jeans' creativity went beyond her passion for quilting. Jean knew all the best places for picking wild blueberries, how to dance the polka and why you should kneel for prayers at night. She found joy through human connection, tradition and charity to others. A member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Pinconning, MI., Jean married Chester, baptized 5 babies, and they taught us the one true faith. Jean will be remembered for her gentle spirit, warm hugs and unconditional love for her family. May your legacy live on, we already miss you and by Gods Grace may we all be together again someday. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday January 6, 2026 at 10 am from Holy Trinity- St. Michaels Church with Re. Fr. Matthew Federico presiding with burial in St. Mary's Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Family will greet family and friends at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-PINCONNING CHAPEL on Monday from 3 to 6 pm. A Rosary will be said at 3:15 pm on Monday and on Tuesday at the church visitation will be from 9 am until time of mass.
