Rodney D. Adams Obituary

Rodney "Rod" D. Adams, age 63, of Pinconning, Michigan, passed away on April 16, 2026, at his home with his family at his side following a brief illness.

Rod was born on December 30, 1962, in Bay City, Michigan, to the late Chester and Bernice Adams. He grew up with strong family values and a hardworking spirit that would guide him throughout his life. Rod attended Pinconning Area High School and was a member of the Class of 1980. After school, he began working as a machinist and later continued his career with Promod Construction Company. He was known for being dependable, skilled, and willing to lend a hand wherever one was needed.

A large part of Rod's life was spent working alongside his father on the family farm until his dad's passing. Those years helped shape the man he became, and he carried that same steady work ethic into everything he did. Rod was the kind of man who could fix, build, or figure out just about anything, and he was often described by those who knew him best as kind, thoughtful, and handy. He took pride in helping others and was always ready to assist neighboring farmers or anyone in need.

Rod married the love of his life, Deanna (Smith) Adams, on March 16, 2000, in Bay City, Michigan. Together they built a life centered on family, love, and simple joys. He is survived by his wife, Deanna; his children, Ashley (Andrew) Woodruff, Amber Adams, Allicia (Jordon) Shute, Marie (Dennis) Stuhr, Jason (Heidi) Vanderbrink, Melissa (Dan) Cassel, John Pilat, and Tyler Allaben; 11 grandchildren and a grandson on the way; six great-grandchildren; and his brother, Randy Adams. He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren.

Rod found happiness in the outdoors and in the everyday moments that brought people together. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and gardening, and he especially loved sharing the fruits of his garden with family and friends. His grandchildren will always remember the rides on his 4-wheeler, memories filled with laughter and adventure. He also had a special heart for animals and was known for rescuing any creature in distress, often with a story to tell about the rescue afterward. Family cookouts were among his favorite gatherings, where he could relax, visit, and enjoy time with the people he loved most.

Rod will be remembered for his quiet strength, his generous heart, and the many ways he showed love through action. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence made life better for those around him. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the lessons he taught, and the countless memories he leaves behind.

Funeral Services will be held Monday April 20, 2026, at 11 am from Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-PINCONNING CHAPEL with Pastor Roger Bauer presiding with burial in Bentley Twp. Cemetery. Family will greet friends on Sunday from 12pm to 8 pm and Monday 10 am until time of services at the funeral home.
