With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elden Middlebrook of Pleasant Lake, Michigan, born in Jackson, Michigan, who passed away on December 16, 2023 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his mother Lela Marie; his stepfather Maurice E. Middlebrook; his father William Francis Shaughnessy Sr.; his great grandchildren, Evan Latter and Molly Merx; his sister Janet L. Shaughnessy; and his former life partner Renee Middlebrook.

He is survived by : his daughters, Jennifer Merx, Laura Cain and Tammy Wernet (Eric); and his siblings, William F. Shaughnessy (Violet) and Darlene M. Ramsey (Eric). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.
