He was predeceased by : his wife Candace. He is survived by : his brother Al Thompson (Kathy); his nieces and nephews, Susan and Courtney; and his cousin Joan Broses.

“John and I were so saddened to hear of the passing of Dave. John worked with him back to their AMC days. We had just seen him last December at the annual AMC Christmas party where he was in very good spirits and, per usual, had a huge smile on his face the entire evening. Dave was a Jeep man thru and thru and he had continued to have wonderful Jeep adventures, even after retiring and with many of those he had worked with. RIP Dave.”
