He was predeceased by: the mother of his children Angela Koop; and his mother Antoinette Koop. He is survived by: his wife Karen Koop; his children, Lena, Annie, Brian (Nicole) and Charlie; his grandchildren, Tara, Brian, Benny, Lola and Trinity; his stepchildren, Lynda (Bill) and Louie (Leah); his stepgrandchildren, Brandon, Alice, Charleigh and Mario; and his father Albert Koop.
