He was predeceased by: his wife Lavern Dawson; his children, Linda Harrell, Leonard Dawson, Larry I. Dawson and Bridgett Joy; his stepchildren, Ladetra Crawford, Dorothy Johnson, Garcia and Earnest Crawford; and the mother of his children Genola Dawson.
He is survived by: his children, Renaldo Dawson, Robert Dawson, Ronda Dawson, Jean Dawson and Annette Dawson; his sister Eloise Mitchell; and his cousins, Fred Hawkins, Delores Owens (Robert) and Edna Henry. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home (268 North Perry St, Pontiac, MI 48342). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
