He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Weiss and Clara Weiss (Schmidt); his wife Janet Schmaltz; his daughter Lori Pedrotte; his siblings, Alvin, Gerald, Victor and Evelyn Deer; and his brother-in-law Harvey Deer.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah Stephenson (Dennis) of Ubly, Cindy Booms (Randy Booms) of Harbor Beach, Brenda Young (Brian) of Elkton, Rodney Jr. Weiss (Kelly) of Harbor Beach and Randy Weiss (Mary) of Harbor Beach; his son-in-law Tony Pedrotte of Harbor Beach; and his sister-in-law Lois Weiss of Harbor Beach. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to the St. John Lutheran Church Ladies Auxiliary.
