He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Christenberry and Ina Mae Vandergriff; his siblings, Herman Smith, Frank Vandergriff, Rudy Vandergriff, Samuel Vandergriff, Dorothy Smith and Daisy Gibson; and his niece Jeanette Miller.
He is survived by: his children, Malisa Donnelly, Daniel Vandergriff, Scott Vandergriff and Troy Egly. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
