He was predeceased by: his parents, Steve Kovach and Julia Kovach (Oli); his wife Rosemary "Kitty" Kovach; his daughter Kim Cope; his grandson Nicholas George Zgieb; his siblings, Berniece Sanders, Steve Kovach, Mary Hamilton, Gus Kovach and Joe Lipai; and his nephews, Tim Sanders and Jay Kovach.
He is survived by: his children, Frank K. Kovach (Karen), Cynthia Frazier (Steve), Linda Armstrong (Leon), Joan Wille and Mary Little; and his siblings, James Kovach and Liz Kovach. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
