She was predeceased by: her parents, George Johnson and Edith Minnie Henderson; her sons, Duane and Richard Caldwell; and her siblings, Doris Johnson, Robert Johnson, George Johnson Jr., James Johnson, Leroy Johnson and Guy Johnson.

She is survived by: her husband Howard Caldwell Sr.; and her children, Hazel, Elaine Ward (Delbert), Howard Caldwell Jr., Carol "Debbie" Valentine (Willie), Kenneth Caldwell Sr. (Yvette) and Pamela Kidd. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 22 great-children, 7 great great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
