He was predeceased by: his father Grant Cheney. He is survived by: his mother Daisy Cheney; his wife Linda Fogal; his sons, Michael Cheney (Jana), William Doan and Gregory Doan (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Brooklynn, Sydney, Madison, Angel, Nathan, Austin, Francis, Keith and Mareena; his sisters, Pam Vaughn (Kevin), Nancy White (Mark) and Kathleen Taylor; and his brother-in-law James Fogal (Dana). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Port Huron Minor Hockey Association or the Port Huron Figure Skating Club.
