He was predeceased by: his parents, Archibald Hayes and Olivia Hayes (Sherlock); his sister-in-law Margaret MacKinnon; his wife Mary Jane Hayes; his brothers, Edward D. Hayes and John W. Hayes; his nephew Richard Hayes; and his sisters-in-law, Theresa McNeil (Angus) and Rita MacKinnon.
He is survived by: his daughters, Pattie Hayes (Jim Bloch) of St. Clair and Anne Falk (Dan) of Fort Gratiot; his grandchildren, Nathan McDonell (Laura), Peter McDonell (Margaret Ackley), Erin Vogel (David), Kate Hoffman (Kevin), Daniel Falk and Juliana Jarchow (Matt); his great grandchildren, Nathan, Luke, Rachel, Quinn, Graham, Forest, Calvin, Maxwell and Addison; and his siblings-in-law, Joseph MacKinnon (Pauline), Msgr and John MacKinnon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Holy Trinity Parish, Mid-City Nutrition, or The Peoples Clinic.
