She was predeceased by: her father Joseph Kingsbury Sr.; her former husband Norman Raines (Gregory Marek); her son-in-law Leonard Brookins Jr.; her sister Gail Shaw; and her grandparents, Glenn and Katherine Tunningly.

She is survived by: her children, Tammy Velasquez and Roger Thornton II (Debra); her grandchildren, Nicole Cribbs (Michael), Matthew Velasquez (Alysa Morris), Charles Tollan and Jessica Thornton; her siblings, Joseph Kingsbury (Pat), John Salayko (Maureen), Robert Salayko (Melissa) and Kathy Snover (Ronald); and her great grandchildren, Lilliana Pryor, Gannon Thornton and Zayleigh Thornton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
