With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Linda L Downing of Port Huron, Michigan, who passed away on June 4, 2025 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Christian Schneider and Dorothy Schneider; and her siblings, Ed, Chuck, Dave, Alex, John and Careen.
She is survived by: her husband Harold "John" Downing; her children, Christopher Downing (Lisa), H. John Downing (Alley) and Jennifer Smarch (Bryan); her grandchildren, Nicole Smith (Mike), Andrew Downing (Courtney), Jack Smarch of Ava Smarch, J. R, Belinda Justin, Shaun Carl and Randy Carl; her great grandchildren, Carter Smith, Grayson Downing, Tatum Downing and Aryia Justin; and her siblings, SueEllen Emig, Jane Dennis (Mark), Tom Schneider (Joy), Mary Leitch and Jim Schneider. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church (3790 W Water St, Port Huron, MI 48060). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
