He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Johnson and Hattie Bell Johnson; and his siblings, Lena McClarty, Alex and Brister Lee Johnson.
He is survived by: his son Otis Freeman (Danielle Ledesma); his stepdaughter Maya Freeman; his grandchildren, Jadelynn Freeman and Otis Freeman Jr.; and his siblings, Pearlie Bell, Ruth Johnson, Edward Lee Johnson, Colleen Johnson (Ezell), Lillie Jean Jenkins, Margie McFadden and Shirley Johnson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends.
