He was predeceased by: his parents, James McCoy and Clotell McCoy (Norris); his granddaughter Odessa McCoy; his siblings, Charles McCoy (Ruby), James Norris and Pearl; and his brother-in-law Ike Lang.
He is survived by: his wife Gwendolyn Mathis; and his sons, Daniel McCoy (Bridget), Gregory McCoy (Gloria) and Glen McCoy (Julie). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.
