The passing of Richard J. Groch (Port Huron, Michigan), born in Toledo, Ohio leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on October 1, 2025 at the age of 84. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Groch and Harriet Groch; his in-laws, Ralph and Charlotte Stadelman; and his nephew Douglas Groch.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his children, Julie Aucar (John), Brian Groch (Lori) and Dr. Nicholas Groch (Melanie); his grandchildren, John Adam Aucar (Megan), Erin Lenssen (Nick), Kelsey, Dr. Carter, Dawson, Owen, Skeylar, Ronin and Raina Groch; his great grandchild Joanna Lenssen; his brother David Groch (Donna); and his niece Debi Anson (Don).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Christopher Catholic Church (1000 Michigan Ave, Marysville, MI 48040).
He was honored by the American Baseball Association with its Meritorious Service Award and also by the National Junior College with its Service Award for his contributions to two-year college athletics.
