He was predeceased by : his parents, William Burns and Jessie Burns (Morley); his grandsons, Brian M. Kenny and William J. Crowe; and his sister Linda Burns.

He is survived by : his wife Ellen; and his children, William A. (Achara) of Bad Axe, Erick M (Laurie) of Sandusky, Rose Loss (Keith) of Clearwater, FL, Rita Buckley (Jim) of Prescott and Leanne Crowe (Mark) of Port Sanilac. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Port Sanilac United Methodist Church or United Hospice.
