He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Haften and Anna Bosker Van Haften; his wife Ruth Barnum; his grandson Ricky VanHaften; his great grandchild Angel Norris; and his sister Kathlyn Butus.

He is survived by: his children, Dale (Linda), Daniel (Maggie), Lyn Scholten (Will) and Debbie Riter (Kevin). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and a lovingly anticipated great-great granddaughter as well as many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 113 W. John St. Newberry, MI 49868 or the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission, 488 N. Burdick St., Kalamazoo, MI 49007.
