Douglas A. West Obituary

Age 72 of Portage, passed away Tuesday July 8, 2025 at home. Douglas was born March 30,
1953 in Kalamazoo the son of Horace and Marie (Terry) West. He attended Comstock Public
Schools and was employed as a truck driver for Morren Poultry, Arvco Trucking and then for
Comstock Schools. Douglas enjoyed listening to music, camping, hunting and fishing. On
November 4, 1972 in Kalamazoo Douglas was united in marriage to Marion (Payne) West who
survives. Also surviving are three children, Benjamin West, Andria (luis) Espinosa, Joseph
(Amanda) West; seven grandchildren, Jake, Ashley, Jarrett, Trevor, Brett, Danaka, Brooke; one
great-grandson, Zane; one sister, Terry Tigchelaar; several nieces & nephews. He was preceded
in death by his parents; two brothers, Horace, William West; one sister, Carol Alexander.
