It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward Joseph Bachleda of Portage, Michigan, born in Schenectady, New York, who passed away on July 26, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Bachleda and Helen Bachleda (Mary Bachleda); and his son David Bachleda. He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Timothy Bachleda (Anne), Daniel Bachleda (Laurie), Korine Blyveis (Jeff) and Margaret Boyea (David); his grandchildren, Lauren Morar (Josh), Timothy Bachleda, Michael Bachleda (Kristina), Bethany Bachleda (Werme), Madeleine Boyea, Kate Boyea and Grace Boyea; his great grandchildren, Madison, Monroe, Memphis Morar, Aubrey, Lucia, Luke Bachleda and Bennett Werme; his cousin Irene Jankowski; and his close friend Catherine Kramer.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes - Portage Chapel (411 E Centre Ave, Portage, MI 49002). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
