He was predeceased by: his parent True John. He is survived by: his parent Ahava Mowry (Webb); his spouse Shirley "Janie" Kerckove; his children, Stephen Mowry (Barbara) of Portage and Karen Albano (Lawrence) of Rockford; his grandchildren, Jennifer Turner (Terrell), Timothy Mowry, Michael Albano (Erika), Marie Albano and Matthew Albano; and his great grandchildren, Raphael Albano, Roxanne Albano, Rose Albano, Adley Turner and Jaiden Turner.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church or to Borgess Palliative Care.

“Mr. Mowry was the best teacher I ever had! He taught me English and Geography 60-years ago in 7th grade at PCJH about 1962. He later helped me successfully complete my student teaching requirements, and I went on to teach in the Space Shuttle program until retirement. He was my most inspirational teacher, and I hope to see him in Heaven to personally thank him some day.”
