She was predeceased by: her parents, Jerome Hayes and Mary Hayes (Simmons); her husband Carl F. Baker, Sr.; and her siblings, Alva Hayes, Melvina Harper, Jessie Burleigh and Mae Long.

She is survived by: her sister Esther Wheatley; her children, Marilyn Cramer, Delores Hill and Carl F. Baker, Jr.; and her grandchildren, Jamie Hayes, Michelle Meyer (Rick), Kathleen Baker, Gregory Baker (Cherie Colter) and Laura Baker. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great-grandchildren, as well as many, many nieces and nephews.
