In loving memory of June Jean Baker (Portage, Michigan), who departed this world on October 12, 2025 at the age of 104. June leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jerome Hayes and Mary Hayes (Simmons); her husband Carl F. Baker, Sr.; and her siblings, Alva Hayes, Melvina Harper, Jessie Burleigh and Mae Long.
She is survived by: her sister Esther Wheatley; her children, Marilyn Cramer, Delores Hill and Carl F. Baker, Jr.; and her grandchildren, Jamie Hayes, Michelle Meyer (Rick), Kathleen Baker, Gregory Baker (Cherie Colter) and Laura Baker. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great-grandchildren, as well as many, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, Portage Chapel (411 E Centre Ave, Portage, MI 49002). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to either of those organizations.
