Age 42 of Portage, passed away on May 28, 2025. He was born in Kalamazoo on November 15, 1982, the son of Richard L. Powers and Christine C. Powers. Michael was an outgoing man who loved to spend time with family and friends. He enjoyed relaxing and watching football and baseball. Whenever it was within his power, he would help others, and his heart was filled with kindness. Though Michael has left our world too soon, his family is comforted knowing he is at peace. "Thank you, Michael, for letting me be your dad. Now you will be at peace with no tears nor pain. May the Lord fill your heart with everlasting comfort and joy, forever and always. I will truly miss you my son. Love your dad, forever and always.". Michael is survived by his father and step-mother, Richard (Lan) Powers; mother, Christine (Tim Brundige) Hammock; siblings, Sally M. Powers; brother, Jaxon Hammock; sister, Autumn Hammock, step-brothers, Anthony and Christopher Hunt; nephew, Chase Hunt; niece, Destiny; several aunts, uncles and cousins, including a great aunt, Beverly Stoyanoff; and many friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jeremy Hammock.
