She was predeceased by : her parents, Vaughn Mowan and Mildred Mowan (Gay); and her brother Eugene Mowan. She is survived by : her children, Lewis Smith (Brandy), Karey Smith, Kimberly Hickman (Lawrence), Beth Lint and Kristen Golden (Andrew). She is also survived by eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 2nd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Kalamazoo Missionary Church (5045 E Michigan Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49048). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
